Trainings

MonTECH offers numerous Assistive Technology training opportunities for groups and individuals. Examples of broad training topics include:

  • Awareness training regarding assistive technology options (low-tech to high tech) in a variety of functional domains.
  • AT for Employment and workplace accommodations
  • AT in Educational Environments
  • AT for Community Living and Home Environment
  • Alternative Augmentative Communication
  • AT for Hearing, Vision, and/or Mobility
  • AT for Aging
  • AT Funding
  • Computer Access and software applications

MonTECH training facilities include the Montana Technology Access Center (MTAC), a computer lab with ten stations, and a large conference room. MonTECH also has videoconferencing capabilities in order to deliver trainings via distance format. For more in-depth AT training, customized trainings on topics specific to your needs are available. Trainings can be scheduled at MonTECH, at your site, or via distance delivery.

Individual Training is also available. MonTECH staff can provide training to ensure an individual is proficient in the use of a device or program. This specific training can also be extended to those who support the individual using the device---such as family members, personal assistants, teachers, and para-educators.
