If you are a licensed childcare provider in Montana, this program is for you! The Sandbox Project provides education and training on using inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning, and assistive technology in birth-to-five childcare centers to support all young learners. Childcare providers who join the program will receive access to training modules, assistive technology kits, and individualized coaching with MonTECH staff free of charge. The Sandbox Project is a collaboration between MonTECH and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS).

The steps in The Sandbox Project include:

  1. Complete online training modules (106 minutes). Two hours of CEUs provided.
  2. Receive a free starter assistive-technology kit based on the age of kids you serve. Age ranges for the starter kits include 0-2 years old and 2-5 years old.
  3. Sign up for an in-person or virtual coaching visit.
  4. Receive a loaner assistive technology kit based on recommendations from your coaching visit.
  5. Follow-up by Project staff with you and your team.
